Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

The Neighbourhood Watch June 'Our News' enewsletter is out!

With the lockdown remaining fully in place in Wales and measures in England altering, Neighbourhood Watch groups continue to support individuals and their communities to adapt, stay safe and manage the situation. We have been collecting stories of all the amazing work going on, several of which are in this newsletter.

"The range of support offered is fantastic and a real testament to how Neighbourhood Watch groups all across England and Wales have stood up to support others and their communities".

John Hayward-Cripps, CEO, Neighbourhood Watch Network

We are fast approaching the annual Neighbourhood Watch Week, 7th - 13th June, and there is lots of information in this newsletter on how to get involved and get active in celebrating your neighbours. If you have plans to get involved, let us know by emailing so we can support you.

This year we have slightly separate messages for our English and Welsh supporters in line with the Government's guidance.  Both versions can be accessed on our website here.

Happy reading and thank you for your continued support.

Mutual Aid

Links has been working with mutual aid groups in Chesterfield and it was this partnership which included other charities, local authorities and WhatsApp groups to develop and deliver the Covid-19 Support Directory.

We hope to continue that relationship after the end of this crisis in the New Normal!

Coronavirus- can you help?

Getting the right healthcare

The NHS has been responding to the Coronavirus pandemic and is very grateful for the support it has received from the public. The support is overwhelming, in fact. However, whilst it is not business as usual for the NHS, the NHS is still very much open for business.

Everyone must continue to access essential care to protect health and wellbeing. This includes calling 999 or attending A&E when someone has a life threatening condition such as a suspected heart attack, stroke, have significant loss of blood or difficulty breathing.

We would like to ask for your support in spreading the message that the NHS is still here to help those who need it. People may be asked to access service differently or if their need is not urgent to delay a while to ensure safe care can be offered but healthcare is still here. There are resources in the links below and we would be grateful for anything you can do to disseminate the message throughout the community.

There are many resources available on the Joined up Care Derbyshire website: which brings together information from Health across Derby and Derbyshire.

I would also like to highlight the new accessible information that has just become available which you can find here:

Mental Health and Wellbeing Support for Children, Young People, Parents and Carers during Covid-19

We know that the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 pandemic has the potential to be an anxious and uncertain time for children, young people, parents and carers across Derby and Derbyshire. We are pleased to be able to offer services to support the whole family. You will find information attached. We would again be most grateful if you could support us in sharing this information.

If you have any questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact us:
