Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Impact of COVID on the VCS and other charitable organisations in Derbyshire - Survey

We are aware that the voluntary and community sector have been absolutely essential in continuing the support to the vulnerable throughout the pandemic. As economic recovery plans are being developed by the LEP and within Economic Regeneration and Employment & Skills teams at Derbyshire County Council, we are keen to try to capture some of the experiences of your organisations so that it can inform our next steps and understanding of what provision and resources might be needed moving forward.

A Survey Monkey of 10 questions has been developed, and we would be extremely thankful if you could complete it on behalf of your VCS and charitable/support organisation.

The link to the survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XYVDLL7

We would like the survey to have been completed by Friday 26th June please.

Princes Trust - Enterprise Digital Webinar in Derbyshire!

It’s Volunteers' Week and Derbyshire County Council are sending a huge thank-you to all those residents who volunteer and make such a difference to their local communities –showing true Derbyshire Spirit.

During the coronavirus pandemic many people have been eager to help out and the numbers of volunteers have grown across the county.

The Derbyshire County Council Community Response Unit (CRU) was set up in response to the pandemic with 40 partners from other authorities, agencies and the charity and voluntary sector working together to co-ordinate efforts and make sure support reached those who needed it most.

A major role for the CRU was finding volunteers to help people in their local communities who have no one else to call on. Since it was set up, the unit has recruited more than 1,000 people who have been helping with food shopping, collecting prescriptions and checking up on the elderly and vulnerable by phone.

There have also been many creative projects in towns and villages across the county as people have pulled together, with seasoned volunteers welcoming people who had never volunteered before and were desperate to help.

Volunteers' Week takes place annually during the first week of June and is now in its 36th year. It is a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK and to encourage people across the country to help out in their local areas.
