Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Resourcing Racial Justice Fund - Deadline: 22nd June 2020

Grants are available for frontline organisations, grassroots groups and community groups across the UK that are working to redress the impact of the coronavirus/COVID-19 and systemic racism on communities of colour.

Stop Loan Sharks Community Fund - Deadline: 31st August 2020

The England Illegal Money Lending Team is accepting applications from local charities, voluntary organisations and community groups to support projects that raise awareness of the issues of the dangers of illegal money lending in their community.  Groups can apply for grants of up to £5,000 for community projects that demonstrate a positive impact on their community and that meet the following criteria:

  • Contributes to raising awareness of the dangers of using loan sharks.
  • Prevents crime and disorder and makes a difference in local communities.
  • Promotes the work of the Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) in communities.
  • Encourages reporting of loan sharks and signposts victims to the team.

The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Foundation

The Trustees of the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Foundation have made additional funding available for their next grants phase, running from May to December 2020. There are new funding opportunities for existing grantees, offering emergency funding; 12 month grant extensions and grant increases for adaptation costs. In the summer, the Trust will launch a new COVID-19 Initiatives Fund, which will be open to both grantees and non-grantees. Funding will be available to support new initiatives rooted in the values of equity, rights, peace, climate change and power and accountability.
