Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Go The Distance Festival - Fab, fun and free online shows this weekend and next

First Art has two fantastic online shows to experience this weekend and next as part of Go The Distance Festival. Isolation Bingo and Love Letters At Home are two cracking shows that I’d personally recommend and they are well worth an hour of your time. Show details and how to book below.

Isolation Bingo by Wild n Beets

Chipper and cheeky, Isolation Bingo is an online reinvention of bingo brought to you by hosts Beryl and Cyril. Hosting from their front rooms (which they’ve even tidied for you), this lovable duo will make you feel welcome and have you chortling in no time. Expect ball machines made from toilet rolls, pasta shells and scrabble tiles, lockdown-inspired bingo calls and homemade prizes. This fun, relaxed and cheeky online game is open to all and a chance to have a good old fashioned chin wag and a giggle.

Date: Sat 20 June

Love Letters At Home by Uninvited Guests and Fuel

An event that is somewhere between a wedding reception, a wake and a radio dedication show. A wonderfully warming show that brings together stories of our love for music and the people it reminds us of right into your home and your heart.

Each performance is a one-off, written around the music dedications to loved ones sent in by the audience. It’s an opportunity to raise our glasses to long lost loves and current lovers, to mums and dads, and to absent friends

Date: Fri 26 June

Show time: 8pm – for more info and to book go to https://firstart.org.uk/whats_on/love-letters-at-home/
