Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Derbyshire County Council Scams Bulletin - Covid-19 Edition

We are making changes to town centres around the county to help with increasing numbers of visitors as more shops start to re-open.

Public asked to be ‘safe shoppers’

Residents are no longer being asked to avoid taking vans and trailers to our recycling centres – but visitors are still only allowed in on certain days to help with social distancing.

News from Derbyshire County Council

A few months ago we told you about Police Cadet Nicole Lander, who was selling her personalised artwork to raise money for the NHS.

In the past week Nicole announced the total from her artwork sales and has donated the money and an art piece to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Nicole sold just over 180 hand drawn replicas of the original ‘key workers artwork’, raising an incredible total of £2,150.

She said: “It’s amazing to know that you can make a difference, just from the comfort of your own home and with things you currently own! It took me more than 240 hours to complete all orders, and it was an honour to have spent my time creating each personalised piece, spreading love and happiness to those who are supporting us each and every day.”

Nicole had requests not just from Chesterfield or Derbyshire, but she also posted her artwork to people in Huddersfield, Northampton, Bristol, Bournemouth, Newcastle, London... the list goes on!

The money will be used towards bringing health and well-being experiences to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Primary Care Staff, as well as to help enhance care and facilities for patients.

We are all very proud of Nicole and wish her all the best for her future.

Update from Derbyshire Dales CVS

Community Chesterfield in partnership with  iSafe Health, Safety & Quality Services presents:

A Free Online training session:

Reducing the Risk - Completing Covid Workplace Risk Assessments

Two alternative times are available for this session on:

Thursday 2nd July:

Either 10.00-11.30am  or  2.00-3.30pm

Booking Essential

This is a FREE interactive online session about WORKPLACE COVID RISK ASSESSMENTS for Community & Voluntary Third Sector organisations or groups in Chesterfield and immediate surrounding areas.

The law says that organisations wishing to return to work should have a specific COVID risk assessment in place for their workplace. This can be a difficult task for employers or groups who have had limited experience in producing risk assessments or who are not fully aware of what they should be doing to meet their specific requirements.  During the training we will give attendees the knowledge to risk assess their own workplaces and put together a practical action plan to implement within their community voluntary sector organisation.

If you'd like to book a space on one of the two times for the course, please click below.

Eventbrite will confirm your booking by email, then closer to the date we'll be in touch with a link and the details you'll need to attend.
