Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

It's what everybody needs to book on today!

Community Chesterfield in partnership with  iSafe Health, Safety & Quality Services presents:

A Free Online training session:

Reducing the Risk - Completing Covid Workplace Risk Assessments

Two alternative times are available for this session on:

Thursday 2nd July:

Either 10.00-11.30am  or  2.00-3.30pm

Booking Essential

This is a FREE interactive online session about WORKPLACE COVID RISK ASSESSMENTS for Community & Voluntary Third Sector organisations or groups in Chesterfield and immediate surrounding areas.

The law says that organisations wishing to return to work should have a specific COVID risk assessment in place for their workplace. This can be a difficult task for employers or groups who have had limited experience in producing risk assessments or who are not fully aware of what they should be doing to meet their specific requirements.  During the training we will give attendees the knowledge to risk assess their own workplaces and put together a practical action plan to implement within their community voluntary sector organisation.

If you'd like to book a space on one of the two times for the course, please click below.

Eventbrite will confirm your booking by email, then closer to the date we'll be in touch with a link and the details you'll need to attend.

To coincide with the 72nd Birthday of the NHS we are going to hold our

#Black Lives Matter event on FRIDAY JULY 3rd from 6.30pm outside the Royal Hospital.

We aim to read the names and short biographies of the 120+ health-workers from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority backgrounds who have died during the Covid19 crisis. We will Take the Knee as well.

Assemble on the wide grass verge before the main gate of the hospital coming up the hill from Chesterfield. Please park in the lay-by opposite the hospital by Karen's Kabin.( Post code S44 5UQ)

We would like to have health-workers to read the names, so if you would volunteer that would be great. Please let me know.

Do come along and bring friends and family.

DAST - Action Mesothelioma Day

This year, due to the current pandemic, we cannot bring you physically together for Action Mesothelioma Day, but we still want to mark the date. We will hold ‘Virtual Action Mesothelioma Day’ on Friday 3rd July 2020 on social media and online. The day will start off at 9am with an introduction for Joanne and there will be posts and videos throughout the day.

Here is a lovely photo from last year as we walked a mile for mesothelioma as part of the AMD event.
