Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Please note that the staff will be working from home and can be contacted on the details below during our usual office hours 10:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. Our email address info@linkscvs.org.uk will still be monitored as normal.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

News from North East Derbyshire District Council - Food Collection Points

Across the District NEDDC have been working with parish councils and set up food collection points for residents to drop off tinned items along side tea and coffee. A full list can be found in the Food donations press release. The locations, days and times can be found below:

Monday:

  • Wingerworth Parish Hall – 12pm to 2pm
  • Holmewood - Abundant Life Christian Centre, Tibshelf Road - 12 - 2pm

Tuesday:

  • Stonebroom Pavillion – 12pm to 2pm
  • Grassmoor Community Hall - 12pm to 2pm

Wednesday:

  • Ashover Parish Hall – 12pm to 2pm
  • North Wingfield Resource Centre - 12pm to 2pm

Thursdays:

  • Eckington Civic Centre - 12pm to 2pm
  • Clay Cross Area Housing Office - 12pm to 2pm

Fridays:

  • Dronfield Leisure Centre - 12pm to 2pm
  • Tupton Village Hall - 12pm to 2pm

News from North East Derbyshire District Council – Children Play Areas

The Government announced that playgrounds may reopen from 4th July 2020. However, this does not mean all playgrounds will reopen from that date. NEDDC have created a iCovid-19 Playground information list (.pdf | 400kb) and will keep you updated on any changes. If the playground in the list does not show it is open, please don't use the equipment.

We are seeking to recruit a maternity cover Project Manager to lead the COMMuniTY CHESTERFIELD team, over the next nine months building on the current achievements and developing the project further. 

Project Manager (Maternity Leave)

30 hours per week – 0.8 FTE

£29,909 FTE + 5% pension contribution

Will guide the project further, building on current achievements, exploring new opportunities, building and maintaining new and existing relationships with the University of Derby and the Community Groups. Will head up an extremely collaborative and passionate team of three. The role will also have an eye to the future and work with colleagues on funding to see the project continue beyond its current funding period.

This incredible opportunity is fully funded by the Community Chesterfield project.

To take advantage of this offer you will need to commit to:

 A two hour training session on producing your design brief.

 Some follow up work on preparing your design brief, with a virtual support meeting of 15 minutes.

 A further meeting or two and collaboration with Community Chesterfield’s very own designer.

Using the brief you have been supported to write by Kate, Hayley will then produce for you the building blocks of your brand!
