The philanthropists Julia and Hans Rausing have launched a £10m “survival fund” aimed at helping charities through the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple said it would be the first time that their eponymous trust would be open to accepting funding applications from charities.
The fund will provide core funding to help charities overcome the effects of Covid-19 and is open to UK-registered charities with annual incomes of less than £5m.
Grants are expected to range between £1,000 and £250,000, with the aim of supporting about 200 charities.
The Aviva Community Fund have broadened their criteria of their funding to include applications for projects that enable causes to adapt or continue their vital services by covering core running costs, so they can help their beneficiaries and communities during this time of need.
