Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s mental health support line

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s mental health support line was introduced to offer support and guidance to Derbyshire residents, of all ages, who are experiencing increased mental health needs during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The support line has moved to a Freephone 0800 number.  From 1 July 2020, you simply need to call 0800 028 0077.  The service will be available between 9am – midnight, seven days a week. It will continue to provide telephone support to people who are experiencing the following:

  • Increased distress or anxiety as a result of current events
  • Reduced contact with our services
  • A need for longer term help – for example by signposting to IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapy) services.

It will also form a professional point of contact for health and social care partners, to support any individuals in mental distress. The feedback from those using the support line has been very positive, with comments including:

  • I am very impressed with how highly responsive the service is and the expertise of the staff involved”
  • “I was struggling and feeling overwhelmed caring for my wife. I found the helpline helpful. The person who I spoke with was great and really understanding of the problem”
  • “In these strange times I can't think of any way this service could improve. Thank you for being there.”

In addition, 90% of callers who responded to a survey said they were ‘likely’ or ‘very likely’ to recommend the service to others. For more information about the support line and wider information about Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust services during this time, please visit the Trust’s website.

Camp Inspire - Wellbeing Focused Holiday Club

Chesterfield FC Community Trust’s Camp Inspire is a Health & Wellbeing summer holiday camp for 4 to 17 year olds focused on enhancing wellbeing and developing soft skills through structured fun activities. Based at Chesterfield FC’s Technique Stadium, the camp will run every weekday from 10am til 3pm from Monday 20th July to Friday 28th August.

Camp Inspire is for anyone who would benefit from structured holiday activities and any parent or carer can pay for their children to attend for any number of weeks during the holidays. A week block booking system will operate rather than individual days so that ‘bubbles’ can be kept consistent in line with government guidance on best practice, but there can be flexibility in in exceptional cases.

Camp Inspire particularly want to reach those children who would most benefit from attending the programme.

There will be an opportunity to apply for fully funded places and Chesterfield FC Community Trust are working with Local Authorities, Public Health, COVID community response funds etc. to establish a pot from which to allocate funded places with contributions from many sources. Some schools are also funding places for their students where they have resources available.

Camp Inspire are now able to take applications and referrals.

For more information about Camp Inspire click HERE.

The Camp Inspire Registration Form can be opened HERE.
