Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

Coronavirus cases in the UK: daily updated statistics

The latest number of coronavirus (COVID-19) tests, cases and deaths in the UK. The way deaths are reported has been reviewed and updated using a measure based on a 28-day limit between the date of a positive lab-confirmed test and date of death. In addition, we are no longer publishing the ‘tests made available’ and have included an explanation for this.

The publication of daily data on coronavirus deaths will resume from today, following a review by Public Health England (PHE) of the methodology used to calculate the figures.

HMRC Employer Bulletin (August 2020, issue 85)

The latest Employer Bulletin from HMRC includes all of the latest COVID-19 updates to help you continue to meet your payroll obligations to HMRC and to claim any relevant grants and rebates during this challenging time. This includes the latest update on the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and what you need to know from 1‌‌ August onwards, as well as a reminder on the Loan Charge and an update on the end of VAT payment deferrals.

The government has published updated coronavirus volunteering guidance, which reflects the latest changes on local lockdowns, travel, face coverings, shielding, self-isolation and working safely.

Funding News


Lloyds Bank Foundation - Covid Recovery Fund - Deadline: 11th September 2020

Lloyds Bank Foundation has announced a £7.4 million COVID recovery fund for small and medium-sized charities that support people with complex social issues such as mental health, homelessness or domestic abuse. Around 140 charities will be given a two-year grant of up to £50,000 as well as a development partner. To ensure funding is distributed equally, at least a quarter of the funding will be given to charities that are led by, or that benefit people from BAME communities.

Social Enterprise Support Fund - Deadline: 20th August 2020

Round two of the Social Enterprise Support Fund opened today (13 August). Grants of between £10,000 and £300,000 are available to social enterprises in England that are supporting people and communities affected by the pandemic.
