Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Our mission is to prevent homelessness. We aim to eradicate rough sleeping within our community, and to support those without a permanent home to obtain and maintain one by providing clients with the help, skills and the confidence to resolve their issues of homelessness.

Pathways is the single point of access for single homeless people in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. We are looking for a Link Worker to support the work of Pathways. We are seeking someone who has passion and experience in supporting vulnerable people, with strong organisation skills, confident in communication, with an ability to manage competing demands.

Mental Health Liaison Service News Update

Derbyshire Voluntary Action’s Mental Health Liaison Service held its first online Voluntary Sector Mental Health Network (VSMHN) last week and it was a great success.

The meeting was used to find out how member groups/organisations have been managing during COVID-19 and to share experiences good and bad.

The meeting was a very informal and supportive, there were lots of ideas shared and offers of collaborative working.

Comments from those that attended included:

Really enjoyable meeting, thank you everyone. Great to hear what you are all doing. Keep up the good work!

I attended, virtually, the above meeting this morning and it was fabulous.  Incredibly informative and so very supportive.

Brilliant meeting – thank you.

Plans going forward include holding more virtual meetings, a Question Time with expert panelists and a dedicated Mental Health newsletter.

If your group/organisation has an interest in mental health and you would like to be invited to future meetings and receive news from us please get in touch: bryony@dva.org.uk
