Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Please note that the staff will be working from home and can be contacted on the details below during our usual office hours 10:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. Our email address info@linkscvs.org.uk will still be monitored as normal.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

New experimental data on the UK economy detailing the impact on businesses from the coronavirus (COVID-19). Data is from the Business Impact of Coronavirus Survey; a 2-weekly survey designed to estimate the impact over the previous 2 weeks and the expectations for the following 2 weeks.

NHS Test and Trace statistics (England): methodology

How the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) puts together the contact tracing data in its weekly reports. Updated to reflect that: median turnaround times are now reported, the median number of contacts per case is now included, the way in which recent close contacts are identified for complex cases has changed since the beginning of NHS Test and Trace, and the number of non-complex close contacts identified and the number who were reached and asked to self-isolate is also provided for each upper-tier local authority.

Funding News


The King’s Fund - 2021 GSK IMPACT Awards - Deadline: 14th September 2020

Winning organisations will receive core funding of up to £40,000 plus access to excellent training and development to support their leaders.

Organisations must be at least three years old, working in a health-related field in the UK, with income between £80,000 and £2.5 million. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from £3,000 to £40,000; the training and development is valued at a further £9,500. Organisations will also have a film made, receive help with press and publicity, and be given a set of promotional materials.

The GSK IMPACT Awards are judged by a prestigious panel of judges and provide national recognition for the winning charities.

Tesco Bags of Help - Deadline: 18th September 2020

Tesco Bags of Help has set up a new fund to support communities in need during the COVID crisis. Organisations that provide services to vulnerable groups can apply for a grant of £500 to support their emergency response. Typically, the fund will support organisations that have experienced increased demand, disrupted services or those that are running new services. Applications are invited from a range of organisations including voluntary organisations, registered charities, schools, health bodies, Parish/Town councils, social enterprises, CICs, community councils, local authorities and housing organisations.

True Colours Trust Small Grants Scheme - Deadline: 21st September 2020

This unique grant round is designed to help organisations to adapt their services to the new situation and to continue or resume supporting families safely.  Trustees remain committed to supporting excellent local organisations and projects that work with disabled children, children with life limiting conditions and their families.
