Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Venues open after lockdown survey

Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing.  We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

Charity mergers up by a third following lockdown

Charity mergers across the sector rose by nearly a third during the first three months after lockdown, figures indicate. The social sector consultancy Eastside Primetimers has analysed Charity Commission data between March and June and compared it with the same period last year.

Recovery from alcohol and drug dependence grant

Grants are now available to organisations in Derbyshire which support people to achieve and sustain recovery from drug or alcohol dependence. You can apply for a single, non-recurring grant up to a maximum of £40,000 including VAT and all other costs. The activities or project proposed must cover a 2-year period, which we will only fund the first year.

Recovery is about individuals gaining and maintaining control of their lives, improving their physical and mental wellbeing, having purpose in life and being able to fulfil their potential.

The Garfield Weston Foundation - Deadline: 9th November 2020

The Garfield Weston Foundation launched its £25 million Weston Culture Fund on 5 October. The fund has been established to help arts organisations reopen and find ways to engage with their audiences - ‘helping the sector to get back on its feet again’. The fund is for charities and CIOs with a pre-COVID turnover of over £500,000. The grants range from £100,000 to £2 million, based on the size of the organisation.
