Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Please note that the staff will be working from home and can be contacted on the details below during our usual office hours 10:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. Our email address will still be monitored as normal.

Venues open after lockdown survey

Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing.  We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

The R number and growth rate in the UK

The latest reproduction number (R) and growth rate of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK. The R number range for the UK is 1.2-1.5 and the growth rate range is +4% to +9% per day as of 9 October 2020.

Largest testing study for coronavirus publishes latest findings

Findings show 1 in 170 people in England had the virus between 18 September and 5 October, with 45,000 new infections every day. 

Job Support Scheme expanded to firms required to close due to Covid Restrictions

The government’s Job Support Scheme (JSS) will be expanded to protect jobs and support businesses required to close their doors as a result of coronavirus restrictions, the Chancellor announced today, 9 October.

How to complete the educational setting status form

This data will help the government monitor the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on settings, focus support more effectively and keep children safe. Revised the existing list of questions for schools, (which have now been reformatted as a PDF file), clarified when settings should submit the form and published a separate list of questions for FE settings. 

Early years healthy development review: call for evidence

Share your evidence to help inform a new review into improving health and development outcomes of babies and young children in England. The questionnaire has been extended by one week to help capture a wide range of responses. The new closing date is 11:59pm on Friday 23 October.  

COVID-19: guidance for households with possible coronavirus infection

Stay at home guidance for households with possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. Added information on actions to take in case of a negative test result, enforcement of self-isolation, and aerosol transmission.  

Maintaining records of staff, customers and visitors to support NHS Test and Trace

Designated venues in certain sectors must have a system in place to request and record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff to help break the chains of transmission of coronavirus. Updated to add further clarification on the venues in scope of the policy. Also added guidance to hospitality venues on how to verify whether an individual has checked in on the NHS COVID-19 app.

Resources to help charities claim Gift Aid

A coalition of voluntary organisations has released new resources to help charities claim Gift Aid, amid warnings that the sector is being forced to do “much more with even less”. The coalition, led by the Charity Finance Group, is also repeating its call for a temporary increase in Gift Aid, which it says could raise an additional £450m for charities. 

HMRC - Covid-19 Support Update

HMRC are providing further information on the support schemes available to help you through the COVID-19 pandemic:
