Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Please note that the staff will be working from home and can be contacted on the details below during our usual office hours 10:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday. Our email address will still be monitored as normal.

Venues open after lockdown survey

Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing.  We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

In Kind Direct's speaker series, taking place on Wednesday 21 October, explores the impact this year is expected to have on Christmas and the support available to your organisation during this time including practical advice and tips on what you can do to make a difference. 

Hundreds of arts organisations to receive share of £257m in emergency funds

Almost 1,400 arts and cultural organisations will receive a share of £257m in emergency grants from the government to help them weather the coronavirus crisis as reported by Third Sector. It is hoped the money will allow performances to restart, venues to plan for reopening, help protect jobs and create opportunities for freelancers. Further funding is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. 

Self Care for the Real World  - try some online yoga  

Thursday 15th October 2020 from 4-5pm 

£5.00 for SCC Members, £10.00 for non members 

To follow up from Mental Health Day on the 10th and to support Work - Life Balance Week, SCC have joined up with TriYoga to offer a session on self care in the real world.

This online ypga session will help identify some of the techniques of managing the stress of running a small charity. 

The London-based sisters and wellness gurus have been in the business of caring for others for decades. They each approach the issue of nourishing body and mind from different disciplines; Nadia is an expert yoga instructor and Katia focuses on food and massage. Together they published their first book, Self-Care for the Real World.

They will be guiding you through this workshop with simple tips and tricks, from mindfulness to yoga, to help your mental health and wellbeing.

The Asian Association of Chesterfield & North Derbyshire

Congratulations to The Asian Association of Chesterfield & North Derbyshire for being awarded two grants.  One from The Coalfields Food Insecurity Response Fund for their Saffron Kitchen: Community Meals Service.  Secondly they also received a grant from the Discretionary grants for local businesses from Chesterfield Borough Council.
