Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Community Development Meet Up - Community Wealth Fund

Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

The case for a Community Wealth Fund: What communities can achieve if given power and control.

The Community Wealth Fund campaign is a community-led proposal which would provide long term investment to ‘left behind’ neighbourhoods, putting these communities in charge of the spend and enabling them to build community confidence.

The Community Wealth Fund Alliance is made up of like-minded civil society, public and private sector organisations who support the proposal to invest in the future of our communities and includes a number of voluntary organisations including the Small Charities Coalition, the Race Equality Foundation and NCVO. Membership is open to any organisation that shares in the aspiration.

The Fund would provide vital support to communities and charities facing increased demand on their services. It would transform the relationship between local authorities and residents, allowing communities to identify their needs and building their confidence and capacity to develop solutions to meet them. Small charities will be pivotal to the work.

Hear from the Community Wealth Fund Campaign Manager, Sophie Page, on why this radical approach is needed, about the ‘left behind’ neighbourhoods identified to receive the funding and the impact of COVID-19 on these communities
