Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. If there are any changes, we will keep you informed.

Venues open after lockdown survey

Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing.  We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area. 

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours. 

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

Coronavirus: driving theory tests

Theory tests are happening in England and Scotland. Updated the information about wearing a face covering, as you must now wear one in England, Scotland and Wales, unless you have a good reason not to.

Check if you can claim back Statutory Sick Pay paid to employees due to coronavirus (COVID-19)

If you’re an employer, find out if you can use the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme to claim back employees’ coronavirus-related Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). Who can use the scheme has been updated so employers can ask for a ‘shielding note’ or a letter from their doctor or health authority advising them to shield because they’re at high risk of severe illness from coronavirus.

The latest Covid-19 Charity Tracker Survey by third sector think tank Pro Bono Economics found that while 44 per cent of charities consider the festive season an important period for their annual income, a quarter expect Christmas donations to fall by more than 25 per cent this year, reported by Third Sector.  You may need to be a member with Third Sector to read this article.

The 19th Pro Bono Week will take place this year from the 2nd to 6th November 2020.

Pro Bono Week exists to recognise and support the voluntary contribution made by lawyers across the UK in giving free legal help to those in need. In this year of unprecedented challenges, for both the voluntary and legal sectors, pro bono legal help has never been more important.

The overarching theme of Pro Bono Week 2020 is “Pro bono: Through the pandemic and beyond“.
