Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Trustees Week 2020: Practical Charity Governance

Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The foundation of a successful charity is governance. It supports compliance with the law, regulation and best practice, and ensures that the charity’s efforts are focused on achieving its charitable purpose. The Small Charities Coalition is hosting a webinar on what good governance looks like in practice. We will help you:

  • Understand the various structures a charity can take and the differences between them;
  • Navigate your charity’s governing document; explain what some of the clauses mean and how the governing document can be changed if it is no longer working for you;
  • Identify other documents which can help support the governing document and the administration of the charity (policies, terms of reference, standing orders, schemes of delegation);
  • Review some core housekeeping and administration matters, such as what should happen at an AGM, what good minutes look like and how to pass a written resolution; and
  • Consider your reporting obligations, at year-end and as events happen.
