Venues open after lockdown survey

Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing.  We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey

We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do.  Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.

We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

However, there are still people needing help, mainly for shopping, collecting prescriptions, someone to talk to; and they could be your neighbours.

Are you doing this in your local area or do you know of any people who have got together and are offering neighbourly support to people in need?

We would be grateful if you could complete this survey so that you can be added to the list of help in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire.

Giving Tuesday Special: Small Charities and Businesses

Tuesday 1st December 2020 from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Every Christmas, big businesses across the country choose to partner with large national charities. Media outlets pick household names as their charity of the year. Amidst this very competitive environment, it remains very difficult for micro and small charities (81% of whom have an income of under £100k) to be able to tap into support from business.

On this Giving Tuesday, the Small Charities Coalition ask what more could be done to get businesses of all shapes and sizes to better partner with small charities.

Do businesses have a good enough understanding of charities and social change organisations? Is the focus on economies of scale at odds with the reality of how small charities operate locally and within very niche specialisms? Is there a culture clash between small charities and businesses? Would small charities be better suited working with small businesses?
