Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the Links Board of Directors has made the decision to temporarily close the office until further notice in order to minimise any potential risk to our staff and VCS group representatives in support of the official attempt to slow down the pandemic. Venues open after lockdown survey
Some groups are finding their meeting place is not big enough to allow social distancing. We would like to hear from venues who may be able to offer them alternative facilities.

Help Needed in Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Survey
We know about the community groups that operate and the good work that you all do. Sadly, we understand that many of you have had to close down due to the Coronavirus crisis.
We are now mapping the help that is available in your residential area.

I write to invite you to Links’ Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on Tuesday 8th December 2020 at 1:00pm virtually on Microsoft Teams.
The meeting will be followed by a funding workshop at 1:30pm hosted by Sandra Pink (Advice & Project Manager at Links), Frederick Bray (Neighbourhood Safeguarding Team, Derbyshire Police) and Anna Watson (Hate Crime Co-ordinator, Derbyshire Police). The workshop will focus on the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Vulnerability Fund Small Grants Scheme administered by Links. It will be an opportunity to find out which groups are eligible, what they can apply for and help with completing an application form.
We wish to take this opportunity to extend our invitation to all voluntary organisations and community groups that operate in our catchment area – the local authority districts of Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.

The Don Network Day is the launch of new joined up environment management for our local rivers to the west of the district. Due to COVID restrictions, it'll now be a Zoom call on 3rd December.
Arts & Crafts Online Session - Friday 11th December 2020 @ 13:00 PM
ACCA offers a FREE online Arts & Crafts Club to those that want to remain active, creative and look after their well being during the current pandemic. This online Arts & Crafts session will consist of creating Arts & Crafts items in your own homes with the guidance of Megan Elley via Zoom.
The Arts & Crafts session will last for at least one hour and will include a catch up.

We have developed an online Winter Top Tips Advent Calendar which launched yesterday and features 24 top tips on social media platforms. It aims to encourage residents, and health and social care staff, to take an active role in staying safe and well this winter and thus help reduce the pressure on NHS services. The campaign is explained in more detail in the article.

Homelessness Prevention Paralegal
Organisation: Derbyshire Law Centre
The role comes with a high degree of autonomy and includes providing support to the housing caseworkers on housing cases to help prevent homelessness. The role also includes providing support and information to individuals and groups across the catchment area. The catchment area is Bolsover, Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.
You must have exceptional file management and organisational skills and be naturally inquisitive with an understanding of legal principals. You must be an enthusiastic individual, have the ability to learn new skills quickly and a willingness to actively contribute to the team and the overall success of the Law Centre.

We are looking for volunteers who are willing to spend a few hours helping to maintain the Mastin Moor Gardens and Allotments site in Mastin Moor.
We are simply seeking anyone interested in general gardens maintenance. Wednesday and Thursday pm and Saturday am are the best dates during the year but other .times to suit can be arranged. Tools barrows etc can be made available.
There are a couple of allotments also available at the time of writing.
